Self-love is definitely one of the latest words that get thrown around these days. However, don't get put off by the fact that it's trending, there is a lot of truth in the concept of self-love that is especially supportive for the vulnerability that comes along with getting older.
By the time you hit your 40's, it's safe to say you've gone through a lot to get there. You've experienced life in all its aspects, from love to loss and challenges to triumphs. You've learned plenty along the way, and now is the time for you to enjoy the future you worked so hard to accomplish. Have you recognized the power of positive self-talk, self-care, and boundaries in your life?
If not, here are four things you can start implementing today:
1. At the start of each day, take 5 minutes to listen to your breath, clear your thoughts, and allow space for new thinking patterns to form.
2. Take time out to pamper yourself and do the things that make you feel good, without feeling guilty or selfish.
3. Avoid negative self-talk and remind yourself of something you love about yourself or something you’re grateful for when it happens.
4. Stop saying "yes" if you really mean "no", without feeling guilty or selfish.
I found them all life-changing, let me know how it goes for you!
